Which Treatment is for You?
Many factors influence what treatment is best for you.
When you come in for a consultation, our team bases their decision on what treatment is best for you on several factors, including:
- The extent of your hair loss.
Clients with moderate to moderately severe hair loss often see dramatic improvements with follicular hair transplantation.
- The pattern of hair loss.
The Norwood-Hamilton Scale (usually male) and the
Ludwig Scale (usually female) show how your hair loss is likely to progress.
- The cause of hair loss.
Only a Board Certified dermatologic surgeon is uniquely qualified to determine the exact medical reason why you're experiencing hair loss.
- The rate at which hair loss is occurring.
Sudden and dramatic hair loss may indicate an underlying medical condition.
- Your gender.
Some treatments are applicable to men only. For example, the drug Finasteride should only be used by men.
- Your expectations.
Of course you expect dramatic improvements, such as is often achieved with hair transplants. While transplantation can produce exciting results, realism should come into play too.
- Relevant medical history.
Your health and medical history.
- Previous treatment history.
Previous treatments for hair loss can influence what will be the best option now.
When you come in to speak with us during your consultation, we’ll talk about the positive and negatives of each treatment. Your own wishes as well as our recommendation will formulate your personal treatment plan. |
