Dr. Jerry Shapiro, MD, FRCPC
Dr. Jerry Shapiro, MD, FRCPC (Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada) is a Board Certified Dermatologist specializing in hair disorders for over twenty years. He is one of the most experienced hair dermatologists internationally, providing comprehensive assessments and treatment for patients with hair disorders.

Dr. Shapiro has published numerous articles on the clinical and basic science of hair disorders in prestigious peer-reviewed medical journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine. He also has authored numerous book chapters as well as two textbooks on hair disorders. His special interests include alopecia areata, cicatricial alopecia and related conditions, and male and female pattern hair loss. He greatly enjoys helping people with genetic pattern balding as well as other forms of hair loss.

Dr. Shapiro founded the first medical-surgical fellowship for dermatologists in the world and has trained dermatologists in the field of hair medicine from all over the world including North America, Europe, Asia, and Middle East. He has lectured internationally and has been invited to appear on national TV, radio, newspapers and magazines.

Dr. Shapiro holds dual academic appointments at the University of British Columbia and New York University. He is Past President of the North American Hair Research Society and the Academy of Dermatology and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is also a member of the American Dermatological Association, Society of Investigational Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Shapiro is listed in "Who's Who in Canada" as well as in "America's Best Doctors."

After graduating from McGill University Medical School in Montreal, Dr. Shapiro went to the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada for his residency training in dermatology.

Dr. David M. Zloty, MD, FRCPC
Dr. Zloty is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons as well as a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. He is a Board Certified Dermatologic Surgeon, certified in Canada and the United States and holds memberships in both American and Canadian Societies for Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Zloty is the Medical Director of the Dermatologic Surgery Centre at Vancouver General Hospital and the Director, Mohs Fellowship Training program at the Department of Dermatology, University of British Columbia. He is also the Director of Surgical Education in the Department of Dermatology and a Clinical Associate Professor at UBC.

Dr. Zloty has been performing hair transplantation and cutaneous cosmetic surgery since 1995. He is renowned for his technical expertise and artistry at creating natural hairlines.

He was President of the Dermatology Society of British Columbia from 1997-2004. He is past President of the Canadian Society of Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Zloty has made many presentations nationally and internationally and has published numerous articles in both the United States and Canada. He appears on local and national TV, radio, and in newspapers, and lectures frequently to different physician groups on the latest advances in hair transplantation. Dr. Zloty graduated from the University of Alberta in 1989 with first class honours in Medicine. He interned at Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton in 1990, and studied internal medicine at University of Calgary Hospitals in 1991. He completed a Dermatology Residency at the University of British Columbia from 1991 to 1994. In 1995, he completed a fellowship in Advanced Cutaneous Surgery at Oregon Health Sciences University. He completed additional cosmetic surgery training in San Francisco and Denver.
